First Congregational Church, Chatham Console and Relay Upgrade

This c:1973, 24 rank Casavant organ continues to be a fine musical tool at this noted Cape Cod church. The original console worked well; however, the demands of the active music program prompted either electronic updating or complete replacement.

The decision was for its replacement with a special-design two manual, draw knob console with custom case. This was built for us by Steve Beeching, the Tolland wood worker who crafts all our custom cases and consoles. The entire instrument’s switching was installed by our technicians with a new Classic system built in Markham, Ontario.

The console is custom-fit to the proportions of the chancel and includes every new switching feature, even automatic page advance where the music being played appears on a computer screen and pages are electronically advanced.

This job was contracted and completed in 2009.
